Nana's Hungarian Green Bean Soup


  • 1 lb fresh green beans or 2 cans of string beans, no salt added
  • Salt
  • 3-4 tbsp. flour
  • 2-3 cups milk
  • 1/2 pint sour cream
  • 1/4 cup vinegar (white wine works best)
  • 8 cups of water

  • Directions
  1. Cook beans in salted water.
  2. Mix flour with small amount of cooking water until smooth, then add milk and sour cream to flour mixture. Mix well.
  3. When beans are cooked, pour cream mixture over beans and add the vinegar.
  4. Serve hot.
